January 2021

Greetings from Iowa!

We are bracing for a snow storm 5 to 8 inches expected. The forecast called for it to start snowing around 3 AM so we sent the milk truck out at midnight to try and be finished before it starts to snow. We try to keep the trucks in the driveway when it’s slippery. Our phrase for milk trucks is, keep the shiny side up!

2021 is off to a good start. We had a few employees off between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but now we are into the New Year and things are running smoothly.

I was looking at the calendar the other day and I thought, "Already?  Spring is two month away?!"  While I am looking out the window at the snowdrifts, it kind of hard to imagine seeing green grass and corn planters running soon.  But January is a time to start planning for the rest of the year.

We are planning a few changes this year to help keep the operation side of things running smoother, and to provide me with a little relief.  Currently I am on call starting at 2AM on Monday through Saturday night when the last load of milk comes in.

Over the next few month we will be spot lighting a few key employees in this space of our newsletter. If you have any questions you would like some insight about our operation please leave question in the comment section below.

Until next time stay safe, stay warm and stay happy!
