Milton Creamery Celebrates Completion of Major Facility Expansion

Milton, IA -- Earlier this month, internationally renowned and award-winning cheesemaker, Milton Creamery, finished its major operations expansion.  The project, which began in the Spring of 2019 will allow Milton Creamery’s operations and cheesemaking efforts to further expand and grow over the next several years.  The project saw the construction of a 17,000 square foot facility designed to age up to 1.5 million pounds of their award-winning Prairie Breeze™ and other cheeses at any given time. The project also includes the design and build of state-of-the-art cutting, processing and packaging rooms, laundry facility, employee break room, changing rooms and corporate offices in the mezzanine. The building, designed by the Musser Family who owns Milton Creamery was built by Seither & Cherry Construction out of Keokuk, Iowa was erected just 300 feet away from the existing creamery which will also be renovated to incorporate additional cheesemaking equipment and increased cheese production. 

“The facility expansion is the project we always dreamed of and then some,” said Rufus “Junior” Musser IV, co-CEO of Milton Creamery.  “We’re excited to share it with our current and future employees.”

As Milton Creamery continues to grow, they will also continue to support their community in rural Iowa by providing meaningful work and growth opportunities to the local work force. In addition, Milton Creamery’s current and future growth plans, along with their commitment to sourcing milk from independently owned, local, small family farms will allow more and more of their community to be a part of their company mission.
